Weden Engineering provides a wide range of services to support the needs of our government and municipal clients. We provide full-service design, construction management, and inspection services for roadway, utility, and essential public facilities capital improvement projects. We also regularly consult to the Community Development (Planning) division in complex long range land-use actions, subdivision process procedure, and development review of construction drawings.

Our comprehensive understanding of internal City administrative procedure, quasi-judicial and legislative process gives us the perspective necessary to formulate realistic strategies and succeed through complex land-use projects.

Below is a sampling of a few recent municipal projects:


	PLAN REVIEW / PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTION CITY OF FERNDALE Weden Engineering was contracted to provide engineering review and public works inspection services for more than 45 private development projects. Plans and reports were measured against City development standards, good engineering practice, comprehensive plans, and state/federal regulations. Our engineers and inspectors worked closely with City staff, the applicant's engineer and contractor resulting in an efficient superior product and minimal punch list items.

	SEWER COMPREHENSIVE PLAN INVENTORY CITY OF FERNDALE The City of Ferndale has contracted with Weden Engineering to provide a comprehensive inventory of the City’s sanitary sewer system and to deliver GIS-quality data for import into the City’s GIS system. The inventory will be used to create an hydraulic model for the entire system.

	FIRST AVENUE STREET IMPROVEMENTS CITY OF FERNDALE This street project was commended by the Public Works Department for being completed under budget and ahead of schedule. Improvements to First Avenue included upgrades to the City's water and storm water utilities, installation of new sidewalk and 30 parking spaces, and construction of a fence adjacent to Central Elementary School. As project engineer, Weden Engineering provided design for water and storm water utilities, traffic planning, and all public and private improvements.

	GRANDVIEW FISCAL IMPACT ANALYSIS CITY OF FERNDALE Weden Engineering was contracted to prepare a Fiscal Impact Analysis as required by statute for the annexation of approximately 150 acres of commercial and industrial property at the Grandview/I-5 interchange. The task required expertise and knowledge of City operations and services, infrastructure, capital facilities, and comprehensive plans.

	PERMIT CENTER CREATION CITY OF FERNDALE In conjunction with planning staff, Weden Engineering was contracted to facilitate the creation of Ferndale's new Development Permit Center using municipal expertise in both land-use planning, permitting and development engineering. Tasks included creation of public and internal check sheets for permit work flow, mission statement, staff organization, job descriptions, and a permit center manual.
